Music Computing, the maker of advanced computer-based musical instruments announced today its new ControlBLADE line of all-in-one music keyboard production stations. Priced from $1,599, the line represents a new standard in value and performance.

ControlBLADEs are all-in-one music production stations complete with piano keys, drum trigger pads, knobs, sliders, thousands of sound presets and software for live and studio use. They allow users to compose, record, mix, and master songs that are ready for radio or direct Internet distribution.

ControlBLADEs are powered by high-performance computer cores utilizing Intel® Core i-series® second-generation (Sandy Bridge) processors that are perfect for today’s demanding musicians and the virtual instruments and software application they use. Options include i3, i5 and i7 dual and quad core versions. The Windows 7 (64-bit) operating system is pre-configured for music production and can run virtually any software application or plug-in. Capable of running over 500 plug-ins at once, sequencing thousands of tracks simultaneously, and storing millions of sound presets, the ControlBLADE packs a serious punch for the money.

“In the eight years I have been designing keyboard production stations, I’ve been cognizant of the fact they were simply too expensive for most people.” Said Victor Wong, CEO, Music Computing. “The ControlBLADE line puts real power into the hands of today’s musicians for less than the price of a typical keyboard workstation. This is what a lot of people have been waiting for.”

The ControlBLADE is available as 25-Key and 61-Key models. About the same size as a typical keyboard controller and weighing only 22-lbs (61-key) / 13-lbs (25-key)…FULLY LOADED, the ControlBLADE brings true portability to the keyboard production station world.

ControlBLADEs all come with built-in Wi-Fi standard. This mean the user can be online anywhere there is a hot spot. Send and retrieve files, log into remote servers, collaborate with others, or download new software and sounds directly into the ControlBLADE. Users now have the freedom to create virtually anywhere they like.

BladeCAST™ allows the user to stream the ControlBLADE’s desktop in real-time to any computer monitor or LCD TV using the optional BladeCAST USB transmitter and receiver. Play full 1080p HD videos and 5.1 surround sound audio right from the ControlBLADE to any entertainment system.

AUSTIN, Texas Dec 01, 2010 — Music Computing, Inc. today announced it will now offer ODM (product development) services to assist companies in producing computer-enhanced solutions for today’s creative professionals.

With decades of combined experience, the design team’s mission is to work with traditional music instrument companies to transform their products into modern-age solutions, which provides more features, better performance and new uses.

“We have been approached in the past by a number of companies that were interested in modernization of their products lines,” said Victor Wong, CEO, Music Computing, “and we are now looking forward to sharing our knowledge and expertise with them to create new classes of instruments.”

Services Music Computing will provide include the following:
• Requirement management
• Selection of appropriate key components
• Development of hardware and software
• Design reviews
• Design to cost, testing, and manufacturing
• Prototyping
• Test concept and design of test benches
• Reliability, approval, and customer acceptance testing
• Quality planning and control through entire process and readiness for mass production

As a demonstration of its capabilities, Music Computing focused on the needs of the modern day drummer and embarked upon the process of designing DrumMC™, the world’s first computer-enhanced electronic drum trigger brain.

The primary targets to achieving this goal were as follows:
• Ability run any Microsoft Windows-based VST, VSTi, DAW or other music applications
• Ability to accept virtually any trigger pad, cymbal trigger or sensor from all manufacturers (30 trigger inputs)
• Small footprint and weight to allow for maximum portability
• Integrated audio to provide both stereo inputs and outputs as well as MIDI and other protocols
• Touchscreen interface allowing control over software interfaces without need for mapping controls
• Ability to be used as a standalone or with any existing drum trigger brain
• Complete design encompassing hardware, software, firmware and user interfaces, ready for mass production

A video demonstrating the DrumMC and Drum MC+ in use as a Finger Drumming & Music Production Workstation, Integrated Electronic Drum VSTi Player and Sequencer, and Electronic Drum Module Replacement, can be seen at: http://www.musiccomputing.com/odm. The DrumMC line is currently available for companies on an OEM basis.

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct 26, 2010 — They’re all the rage. They’re used by musicians, newscasters, business professionals, home theatre lovers and more. They’re large format multi-touchscreen controllers and they’re everywhere! And, Music Computing(TM) is the first company to deliver this revolutionary technology for amazingly low prices.

“While we’re rolling out several new products, these touchscreen products are designed for the widest-reaching audience,” says Victor Wong, CEO of Music Computing. “And, our innovative MotionCOMMAND touchscreen products provide people with the ability to work in a more natural state leading to increased efficiency, better control over software interfaces and the elimination of having to map software controls to hardware controllers.” Currently, Music Computing(TM) has four MotionCOMMAND(TM) multi-touchscreen products available: ClearView, LCD, Rack and WorkCenter.

There are two versions – one driven by an HD video projector designed for live performance that is transparent on both sides; and one driven by an HD LCD television for studio use. Standard sizes are 32-inch and 42-inch, but special order versions up to 200-inches diagonally are also available.

Providing multi-touch and instant visual feedback, these controllers are compatible with Microsoft Windows(R) operating system and Mac OS(R) allowing for greater flexibility; they are constructed with unbeatable expertise, yet affordably priced from $1,499 to $2,299 (U.S. MSRP).

Options include multi-touchscreen controllers integrated into a control console complete with Music Computing’s computer DAW (digital audio workstation) computer core and audio interface, ready to be used with any software to compose, record and produce music in homes and professional studios.

“And, it’s not just for musicians,” adds Wong. “This format allows users to interact with a wide range of technologies. It opens up opportunities for personal computing, hotels, shopping malls, public areas, and even for developing new exciting gaming environments. The possibilities for usage are endless.” About Music Computing, Inc.: Victor Wong, with more than 20 years of industry expertise, brings his computer music and electronics design and development prowess to Music Computing, Inc. His mission for the company is to invent new technologies and to integrate them with proven standards leading to the best possible instruments for musicians and other tech-savvy users.

In addition to these innovative touchscreen products, other cutting-edge products include: all-in-one keyboard production stations – the most powerful available, but priced at keyboard workstation prices; and laptop keyboard production station docks – the first product of its kind commercially available – mainly designed for Apple’s MacBook Pro series laptops, but able to work with virtually any laptop, including most 13-inch to 17-inch models.

There’s a new distribution company that just came on the scene, catering to the smaller developers. The president Stefan has been around the music industry for a while and I’ve dealt with him when he worked with EastWest. Here’s the info I received from him in an email:

it is my pleasure to announce Better Music Distribution (http://www.bettermusicdistribution.com), the alternative source for sample libraries and virtual instruments for professional musicians & composers. Experience the Difference!
Our company is currently based out of beautiful Los Angeles. Our approach is to support and represent small developers that have creative ideas and a line of amazing sounding products they like to introduce to the US market.

I have been approached by many companies and developers looking for a US distribution, many of them not big enough to be considered by one of the large companies (or if, not without compromising too much). This is where Better Music Distribution will come in place by offering a fair trade distribution platform to reach out to customer and dealers across the USA and Canada.

Our focus is representing each company with as much attention to detail as possible. We understand the hard and sometimes long work that goes in each of these products and we would like to transfer this message of pride to the musician that considers to purchase any of these. There are quite a lot of amazing products already available or in the make and for each one of these developers we do offer our best to get them a “foot step” into the US market.

On the other hand Better Music Distribution will also search for new products and ideas that musicians & composers have and we will communicate these back and encourage developers to work on products for such demands.

We are now very pleased to announce the official distribution for Imperfect Samples for the US. Matt Stedeford has found an amazing unique way to fit the needs of so many musicians that are looking for more organic sounds ( http://www.bettermusicdistribution.com/about-imperfect-samples).

Quote::
“The human brain is sensitive to the differences between an organic recording vs. a quantized sequenced track. This is a common problem with sequenced acoustic music. Many perfect commercial sample libraries can often sound midi-like, due to their perfect performance.”

For example, would you expect a clarinet to sound perfect on every note during a performance, or would you expect possibly a subtle change in timbre at the start of or end of some of the notes, and perhaps some of the notes don’t sound perfect? The answer is of course, the latter.

The human brain is very sensitive when it comes to discerning the difference between a fake and a real recording, because of the human performance elements. Many sample libraries work so hard to achieve a “perfect” set of samples with all the best takes, that they are losing the very element that makes the samples sound desirable and musical.

After years of searching for imperfect samples, Matt Stedeford set out to create imperfect sample libraries to use with his work“.

There are currently two unique pianos available, starting for as little as $59.95 each (for the basic download versions)
Hohner White Baby Grand by Imperfect Samples
The Hohner White Baby Grand (complete) is a highly versatile multiple perspective package, containing a breathtaking 3 microphone perspectives with 17 velocity layers in each, along with release samples, piano effects and performance sounds. A choice of 3 microphone perspective, with 24bit audio fidelity, the Hohner White Baby Grand is the largest sampled piano library available.

An original Hohner Schwarzwald White Baby Grand Piano was painstakingly recorded to create this beautiful instrument. As with all Imperfect Samples’ libraries, the emphasis has been placed on achieving a hyper-real and convincing sampled instrument, with performance sounds.

Hohner White Baby Grand (complete) Download Version (MSRP $179.95) DVD Set (MSRP $199.95)
Hohner White Baby Grand (pro) Download Version (MSRP $129.95)
Hohner White Baby Grand (basic) Download Version (MSRP $59.95)

All details about the Hohner White Baby Grand versions are available here:
http://www.bettermusicdistribution.com/new-releases/13-hohner-white-baby-grand

Braunschweig Upright Piano by Imperfect Samples
The Braunschweig Upright Piano has a distinctive sound character that’s far more intimate than a grand piano, making it desirable for certain situations where you don’t want the polished and precise sound of a nine-foot grand in a concert hall.

An original Schimmel Braunschweig Upright Piano was painstakingly recorded to create this beautiful instrument. As with all Imperfect Samples instruments, the emphasis has been placed on achieving a hyper-real and convincing sampled instrument, with performance sounds.

Sampled in multiple velocity layers, with release samples, and true staccato, the Schimmel Braunschweig Upright Piano was recorded at 24 bits. This sampled instrument’s raw and distinctive sound is unlike any other piano sample library currently available.

The life-like Braunschweig Upright (Pro) is the largest single upright piano library in the world. The Braunschweig Upright (Pro) contains 14 velocity layers of one microphone perspective, and 11 layers of another. Totaling over 15GB of data (5GB for the none Pro version with 8 velocity layers and one Mic position), this upright piano library not only sounds real, it has a versatility not before seen in upright piano sample libraries.

Braunschweig Upright Piano (pro) Download Version (MSRP $129.95); Boxed DVD Set (MSRP $149.95)
Braunschweig Upright Piano (basic) Download Version (MSRP $59.95)

All details about the Braunschweig Upright Piano versions are available here:
http://www.bettermusicdistribution.com/new-releases/7-braunschweig-upright-piano

Please note that current formats available are EXS24 and Kontakt (Player is not included).
