The third annual LEME returns to Rich Mix in Shoreditch to give an unparalleled insight into the world of electronic music, featuring over 30 production workshops, industry panel discussions, artist keynotes, networking sessions and live performances. The first part of an impressive programme has been announced today with producer heavyweights Legowelt, Neville Watson and Kris Wadsworth, record labels Defected, Hypercolour and Fear of Flying as well as Ableton, XOYO, Bloc and Rubadub all ready to unlock the secrets of the industry. The two-day event brings together industry insiders, producers, DJs, labels and pro-audio manufacturers for an inspirational, informative and empowering weekend. For full programme and ticket information visit the LEME website.

Championing the hands on approach, LEME kicks off the 2014 event with In The Studio With Neville Watson, which sees the renowned house and techno producer take to the Rich Mix studio with his core production kit, to jam live and discuss his music-making approach.

Rush Hour’s leading light Legowelt takes part in an in-depth Q&A session with CDR’s Tony Nwachukwu followed by an exclusive live performance on the Saturday night. Taking LEME 2014 global is Detroit native Kris Wadsworth, who flies in from Berlin to talk about his creative process and share his forthright opinions on the industry in On The Road: Making A Living as a DJ/Producer. 

LEME also examines the recent rise in vinyl record sales with Fear of Flying Records‘ boss Jay Robinson and Rubadub Distribution co-founder Mark Maxwell via Crate Digging And The Resurgence Of Vinyl. Also joining the action is Ableton, showcasing their all-new Push controller with a series of live performances and interactive product demonstrations with top secret artists from the Ableton Push roster. Expect to rub shoulders with big names behind several other essential electronic music tools, both analogue and digital.

Andy Peyton from leading London club XOYO and Bloc co-founder George Hull discuss the challenges of putting on events and how to be successful in an increasingly competitive industry in Club nights: How To Survive And Thrive, whilst underground icons Defected Records and Wolf Music debate the role of the record label today as LEME asks if record sales are the ultimate aim of the modern label or whether a new modus operandi has emerged?

Meanwhile Hypercolour Records co-founder Jamie Russell discusses the story of the label and its numerous offshoots, sharing his insights into growing a successful independent imprint in Hypercolour: Top Tips For Running A Label.
