Native Instruments launches KOMPLETE KONTROL 2.0, introduces NKS effects

0

Berlin, April 18, 2018 – Native Instruments has expanded its industry-leading Native Kontrol Standard® (NKS®) to include effects – previously, only instruments were supported. All Native Instruments effects are now NKS-ready, while confirmed NKS effects partners for 2018 include Waves, Surreal Machines, Eventide, u-he, Output, Sugar Bytes, Arturia, Unfiltered Audio, Softube, AAS, iZotope, Ohm Force, Imdsp, Twisted Tools, and 112dB. They join the ranks of over 75 existing NKS partners whose instruments already support NKS.

The free software update allows musicians and producers to control Native Kontrol Standard (NKS) and VST effects directly from KOMPLETE KONTROL keyboards and software. NKS effects provide full integration with the Native Browser and intelligent parameter mapping for KOMPLETE KONTROL and MASCHINE hardware.

  • Find and add NKS effects to your instrument chain, then tweak your sound via intuitive hardware mappings designed by the plug-in manufacturer themselves.
  • Add any VST plug-in to your instrument chain, customise mappings, and save as a user preset in the Native Browser.

NKS is an extended plug-in format that enables a unified creative experience across hundreds of virtual instruments and effects, from Native Instruments and other leading developers. Manufacturers using the NKS standard carefully design the mappings, tags, and performance of their instruments and effects for KOMPLETE KONTROL and MASCHINE hardware to react with the feel of a custom instrument.

“I’m delighted to introduce effects to the creative NKS universe,” says Daniel Haver, Native Instruments CEO. “Both our customers and over 75 leading industry partners value the unrivalled integration of hardware and software NKS provides. Whether a complete newcomer or experienced producer, NKS breaks down the barriers between the ideas in your head and the music coming out of your monitors – it’s incredibly exciting to see this brought to the field of creative processing, too.”
